Once upon a doodle (back in 2011), a few scribbly little spuds appeared on a piece of scrap paper. They were called "Spuddy Buds" then, and while they were not much to look at, they had big dreams.
Over the years, they refused to stay quiet. They rolled around all sorts of blank spaces: backs of business cards, margins of notebooks, even shoes! They demanded better hairstyles (the 2011 look was not it) and insisted on bigger personalities. Eventually, they outgrew their name and rebranded themselves as "Tater Townies" because, frankly, "Spuddy Buds" sounded too much like a garage band.
For me, drawing them started as a stress releiver. For them, it was an excuse to get famous. And honestly? We're both happy about it. Seeing people's eyes light up when they meet the Tater Townies is the best part. It turns out potatoes make pretty great mood-lifters.
